Foreign Countries General Science Item Banks Multiple Choice Tests Science Tests Scientific Methodology Scientific Principles Secondary Education Secondary School Science Test Construction Test Items The multiple-choice test items collected in this volume were selected from questions submitted by teachers in New South Wales for the Science Library of Test Items. The collection is intended as a resource to assist teachers in implementing and evaluating courses in the first 4 years of Australian secondary school. To ensure quality in the collection, items were inspected by a panel of experienced, practicing teachers for content validity and were pretested with a representative selection of year 10 students to establish the measurement efficiency of the items. Items are printed to be reproduced for classroom use, and are classified by content with an answer key and difficulty rating. Various classroom uses and test preparation procedures are discussed. The statistical criteria for item facility, item discrimination and distractor efficiency are described. (CM)
