Cooperation Depository Libraries Developing Nations Information Needs Interlibrary Loans International Programs Libraries Library Acquisition Models National Programs Publications Publishing Industry The summaries of seven research projects concerned with the universal availability of publications (UAP) which are presented describe (1) a literature review on the availability of book materials through commercial channels, particularly in developing countries, by John Clews and others; (2) a concomitant survey, by Priscilla Oakeshott, of libraries, publishers, booksellers, and book trade associations throughout the world, which collected information on problems associated with the availability of publications through the commercial book trade, particularly in developing countries; (3) a comparative study of existing national acquisition systems and possible acquisition models, by Judith Collins and Ruth Finer; (4) a comparative study of national repository plans and possible repository models, by Don Kennington; (5) a comparative study of national interlending systems and possible interlending models, by Maurice B. Line and others; (6) an overview of the international lending of publications and the requirements of an international supply system, by Maurice B. Line and others; and (7) a pilot study of acquisition and interlending policies in two unnamed countries, and the general availability of publications within these countries, by Stephen Vickers.
