contents Performance Measures for Oklahoma Public Libraries, 1982. Data Analysis Data Collection Evaluation Criteria Evaluation Methods Library Research Library Standards Performance Factors Public Libraries Surveys This how-to-do-it guide for Oklahoma public libraries to use in evaluating their performance defines the individual performance measures, explains the data collection and analysis procedures, shows example calculations, and discusses the analysis and presentation of the performance measures. The performance measures are presented in terms of the methodology necessary to collect the required data to calculate the library's score or value for a particular measure. Three types of performance measures are covered: (1) those calculated from annual library statistics, (2) those based on user surveys and a sample of titles from the library's collection, and (3) those which require a telephone survey of the general population. The order of the chapters and their associated performance measures reflect the sequential steps in the performance measure process. Twenty tables provide data collection forms and additional information. (LMM)
