Following introductory materials on the establishment of the media center in September 1975 and federal funding of media center projects from 1975 to 1978, information is presented on: (1) media center circulation activities; (2) special weekly activities; (3) instructional television viewing in the media center; (4) "Wednesday at the Media Center," a program which introduces children to the talents of persons living in the local community; (5) the Reading Resource Handbook project, which coordinated the reading programs taught at Clinton Park with the material in the media center; (6) the development of "interest centers" and skills games to instruct children in media skills; and (7) the use of volunteers to assist in media center activities. Examples of activity units and exercises, activity lists for the 1976/77 and 1977/78 school years, sample media center advertisements, photographs of media center activities, and other sample media center materials are provided throughout the booklet. A list of Clinton Park Elementary School staff and a seven-item bibliography are also given. (ESR)
