Disabilities Federal Programs Organizations (Groups) Postsecondary Education Program Descriptions The guide summarizes eight federal programs providing special services and aids to disabled postsecondary students. Each program is described in terms of program name; legislative authority; brief summary; services to disabled postsecondary students; name or title of campus contact person; eligibility information (students and institutions); appropriations for FY 1981, FY 1982, and FY 1983; and names of federal contact persons. Programs address the needs of disadvantaged, hearing impaired, and otherwise handicapped students. The second section of the guide lists seven agencies/organizations that provide assistance to disabled postsecondary students. Summarized are services of such entities as the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Independent Living Research Utilization Project, and the President's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped.
