Curriculum Development Higher Education Information Seeking Information Sources Integrated Activities Library Instruction Library Skills Program Descriptions Program Evaluation Research Skills Staff Development Student Projects Worksheets A general list of suggestions for effective library instruction and library instruction projects in a variety of disciplines are presented in this guide. Developed in a faculty and academic staff development seminar, the Library within the Curriculum Project, these projects illustrate diverse aproaches to library instruction with the common goal of including such instruction as an integral part of a course curriculum. Each project is presented in the form to be assigned to the student, and is followed by a short commentary on the assignment which describes aspects of the projects that were effective, those that were ineffective, and modifications necessary before the project is used again. Specific projects cover the following subject areas: academic skills in English and sociology, anthropology, communication and theater arts, economics, English (composition and literature), history, mathematics, music (therapy), philosophy and religious studies, physical education, political science, and psychology. Activities include book reviews, term projects, research papers, library assignments, and search projects. (LMM)
