| contents | An Atlas of Illinois State University Affairs. Sublett, Michael D., Ed. And Others Behavior Patterns Geography Instruction Higher Education Social Science Research Space Utilization Spatial Relationship (Facilities) Surveys Use Studies Twelve reports on the spatial patterns present on the campus of Illinois State University are divided into three sections. Following an introduction, the first section focuses on behavioral patterns such as seating choices made in the university cafeteria or the classroom. Section II deals with the measures people take to save time. A microstudy of pathway usage, studies of jaywalking and choosing a path between two points, and a consideration of the degree to which people obey pedestrian traffic commands are included. The third section involves students choosing to carry out a particular course of action. Studies deal with the relationship between distance to school and bicycle usage, use of the library floors for study purposes, patronage of two fast food restaurants, and elevator use in the university library. Individual studies are accompanied by charts and graphs where appropriate. (LP) |
