The instrument is divided into upper elementary, junior high school, and high school levels and consists of questions that assess (1) how students feel about literature and reading, their attitudes toward reading in general, their reading habits, and their leisure reading choices; and (2) what students know about literature and reading, their knowledge of literary genres, elements of literature, authors, and specific titles. The instrument provides instructions for use and suggestions for when it should be used. (FL)
