Unlike some other library research exercises on disk, this program allows the student to decide on alternative approaches to solving the given problem: a research paper on the first 10 years of the New York City subway. Library materials covered in the exercise comprise dictionaries, encyclopedias, indexes, the card catalog, books, periodicals, and newspapers. To complete the requirements of the exercise, students must leave the microcomputer and consult the library's research collection.
