A second paper by Allen, "The Compilation of Library Statistics: Some Problems in Definition and Collection," exemplifies, from recent experiences in Australia, the practical problems that beset the compiler of statistical data on library operations. The third paper, "Definition and Collection of Library Statistical Data: The Nigerian Experience," by J. A.
