Recommendations deal with the specific areas of staffing the conservation program; condition of library materials; environmental factors; staff and patron education; handling library materials; repair practices, materials, and facilities; treatment policies and procedures; binding practices; and disaster planning. The formal charge to the Task Force on Preservation Practices, a conservation coordinator position description, and the timeline for implementing the conservation program are appended to this report.
