The following nine themes are addressed: (1) the cardcatalog; (2) indexes and abstracts; (3) indexing and abstracting; (4) dictionaries, maps, atlases, and encyclopedias; (5) directories and almanacs; (6) handbooks and statistical sources; (7) biographies; (8) humanities and the arts; and (9) social sciences and natural sciences. Each unit also contains a list of suggested references, and a concluding bibliography consists of 30 citations to journal articles for the instructor/librarian. |
