The booklet begins with general principles for establishing a home reading program, and continues with a checklist of fifty specific suggestions for parents on helping their children become better readers, including general activities in the home, library related experiences, prereading activities, and school activities. The next section consists of questions asked by parents about reading, along with the answers. The booklet concludes with points to be considered by parents when planning an interview with the child's teacher. (EL)
