Questionnaires based on the Association of Research Libraries' 1974 survey were mailed to the eight CALC libraries; completed surveys were received from seven institutions. This document provides an introduction which includes brief discussions of the purpose of the study, its methodology and scope, and an overview of CALC; a summary of the survey results; and an outline of a proposed collection development policy for Douglas Library. A bibliography includes citations on methodologies and procedures used in the collection development process. The survey instrument is appended. (THC)
