Academic Libraries High School Students Higher Education Library Collections Library Guides Library Materials Library Services Secondary Education This guide is designed to help answer some of the questions that high school students frequently ask when using the Sangamon State University (SSU) Library. The library collection is designed to support the curriculum of the university, an upper-division and graduate institution stressing liberal arts and public affairs, and materials for courses in these areas are emphasized. The library acquires few materials related to vocational education. This document is divided into the following sections: About the Brookens Building; About the Library; Using the Library; Borrowing Materials from the Library; Arranging Class Workshops; Library Hours; Photoduplicating Library Materials; Locating Library Materials (covering books and other cataloged items, catalog cards, periodicals, indexes and abstracts, government publications, and materials for specialized research); and Class Visits to the SSU Library. Appendices include a brief guide to the SSU online catalog and an abridged outline of the Library of Congress classification system. (THC)
