The district purchased a core collection of 90 videotapes, 30 for each of 3 libraries (Coyle Free Library, Franklin County Library, and Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library); and 6 videorecorders, 2 for each library. This manual is intended to provide for smooth acquisition, processing, and circulation of these items and any future videotapes that may be added to the collection. Areas covered in the manual include: (1) videotape selection, including criteria for selection and an intellectual freedom statement; (2) videotape acquisition, including collection development and ordering; (3) cataloging, processing, and withdrawal of videotapes; (4) videotape circulation, including borrowers' rules, overdue videotapes, damaged videotapes, refunds, reserves, and staff circulation of videotapes; (5) videorecorder circulation, including borrowers' rules, overdue videorecorders, damaged videorecorders, refunds, reserves, and staff circulation of videorecorders; (6) statistics; (7) gift videotapes; and (8) re-consideration of videotapes.
