The report includes: (1) a description of the microcomputer program; (2) background on the production of the program and a discussion of the way it fits into Mansfield's total bibliographic instruction program; and (3) a description of the production process for those who are considering the use of microcomputers for this purpose. Reproductions of a series of screens demonstrate the content, organization, format, and interactive nature of the program. The design is based on educational goals. Scripting was done on graph paper to keep screens balanced, uncrowded, consistent in format, and easily communicated to the programmer. Even though library materials are being used as part of the package, maintenance has required minimal use of staff time. The tutorial is being assigned to students in freshman composition, developmental reading and writing, and introduction to education classes. (Author/THC)
