Community Education Ethics Family Planning Information Processing Instructional Materials Program Evaluation Sex Education Sexuality Teacher Education Teacher Role This manual contains 10 chapters which provide basic concepts and information needed by family planning/sexuality educators in the areas of sexuality education, program evaluation, family planning, management, fund raising, public speaking, community organizing, public affairs, writing, and editing. "Sexuality Education" (Susan Newcomer) provides an overview of sexuality education. "The Role of the Staff Educator" (Shirley Everett-Clark) discusses the role of educators and the skills they must possess. "Ethics and Standards for Educators" (Esther Walter) outlines the ethics of being a sexuality educator and discusses the educator's responsibility to clients, students, and the law. "Using Volunteers" (J. Stephen Kirkpatrick) discusses aspects of reporting, training, and supervising volunteers. "Funding Affiliate Educational Programs" (J. Stephen Kirkpatrick) discusses funding options for education. "Community Education" (Carol Cassell) examines community education and its role in providing young people the ability to avoid unintended pregnancies. "Patient Education" (Carol Valentine) looks at one model of patient education. "Training: A Primer" (J. Stephen Kirkpatrick) provides a basic introduction to the training process. "Publications" concerns the production and acquisition of educational materials. "Library and Information Management" (Gloria Roberts and Susan Newcomer) discusses information management. Seven appendices are included which contain mandates for education, certification criteria, an outline of Planned Parenthood's national headquarters structure, an historical sketch of education, lists of resource organizations, a glossary of terms, and short, biographical sketches of the authors in this manual.
