Cummings); (2) "Data for Management's Decision Making" (William N. Hubbard); and (3) "On the ARL Library Index" (Kendon L. Stubbs). Remarks by Gordon Fretwell on the ARL Salary Survey and the group discussion that followed are also included, as well as a panel discussion on the use of data for management and research by Paul B. Kantor, Paul Peters, and Millicent D. Abell. Business meeting coverage includes reports from: (1) the ARL President; (2) the ARL Executive Director; (3) the Office of Management Studies; (4) the Office of Educational Research and Improvement; (5) the Council on Library Resources; (6) the Committee on Bibliographic Control; and (7) the Committee on Collection Development. The ARL Library Index and the ARL Recon Project are also discussed. Appendices provide background information for the reports; status reports for the ARL Office and Office of Management Studies (OMS); excerpts from the OMS annual report; lists of meeting participants, members of the ARL board, task forces, and committees, and member libraries.
