The project included establishment of a foreign language information clearinghouse to (1) collect demographic data about the breadth and depth of foreign language instruction in the region, (2) collect bibliographic data about the variety of instructional materials and curriculum development aids, and (3) conduct inservice workshops for small and large groups of teachers. In addition, it created a consortium including Southeast Missouri State University, private and public high schools in the university's designated 25-county service area, a university library, and a regional professional association. Appendices, the bulk of the report, include the proposal, FLIC (Foreign Language Information Clearinghouse) newsletters, survey and evaluation forms, and resource listing. A separate addendum contains further evaluative data on the project's results for participating educators and on the perceived value to clearinghouse patrons of the instructional materials collected in the course of the project.
