Academic Libraries Higher Education Holidays Leaves of Absence Library Personnel Library Surveys Personnel Policy Research Libraries Vacations This publication comprises a summary of vacation and sick leave policies in Association of Research Libraries (ARL) member libraries and representative leave policies from 12 ARL libraries. Statistics compiled from an examination of leave policies from 50 ARL member libraries provide information about number of days' vacation, length of service before earned vacation may be used, amount of leave accumulation permitted, number of days' sick leave, amount of sick leave accumulation permitted, and length of service before earned sick leave may be used for professional and non-professional staff. In addition, leave policies are included for the following libraries: (1) the University of Connecticut; (2) Louisiana State University Library; (3) the University of Minnesota; (4) the University of North Carolina; (5) Princeton University; (6) the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; (7) the University of Illinois; (8) Pennsylvania State University; (9) Wayne State University; (10) Michigan State University; (11) the University of Pennsylvania; and (12) Purdue University. An ARL Systems and Procedures Exchange Center (SPEC) kit evaluation form is also provided. (KM)
