Kennedy Library on today's elderly society. The 381 references in part I are categorized into sections focusing on growing old from various perspectives: (1) aging; (2) Alzheimer's Disease and Senile Dementia; (3) biochemistry of aging; (4) books for children; (5) caregiving; (6) elder abuse; (7) geriatric nutrition; (8) health services/nursing care; (9) labor/retirement; (10) mental health/counseling; (11) minority aging; (12) pet therapy; (13) physical fitness and exercise; (14) teaching about aging; and (15) verbal communication. The bibliography includes both print and nonprint materials, with emphasis on books and journal articles. The information covers 1980 through June 1986, except for a few titles dating from the late 1970s which were considered important for inclusion. The information is organized alphabetically by author or title within each subject section. Part II provides supplemental information, including a list of organizations concerned with aging which are located in California and specifically in San Luis Obispo, a selected list of journals, and keys to call numbers.
