Continuing Education Financial Support Grants Library Administration Library Expenditures Library Networks Library Planning Library Services Regional Cooperation State Programs Statewide Planning This report summarizes the 2.5-year process of the development and implementation of the New Jersey Library Network, including the formation of six Regional Library Cooperatives, hiring of staff members, and detailed regional planning. Following introductory material which includes listings of the members of the New Jersey State Board of Education and the Division of the State Library Advisory Council, a summary of activities, a map of the counties served, and a listing of members of the executive board and charter members are provided for each of the six regional cooperatives. The coordinators, office locations, and presidents for each region are also listed. A discussion of the development of statewide services includes the following: (1) Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Access Center; (2) UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) Statewide Loan Program; (3) Resource Libraries; (4) Library Network Review Board; (5) Continuing Education; (6) Research Library Centers; (7) Rutgers' New Jersey Newspaper Project; (8) Electronic Communication Grant Project; and (9) Statewide Delivery Grant Program. In addition, fiscal reports and projections for appropriations, regional services, and statewide services are provided for fiscal years 1986, 1987, and 1988. Finally, a discussion of issues of concern considers membership recruitment, service patterns, communications, and funding. (KM)
