Data Analysis Library Expenditures Library Statistics Public Libraries Questionnaires Statistical Data Statistical Distributions Statistical Surveys Designed to provide librarians, library administrators, and other interested persons with information organized to facilitate comparisons of libraries within the same library system, with comparable service populations, and with comparable expenditures, this publication contains information derived from the 1985 Annual Report/System Membership Applications submitted by public libraries in Texas. The report is divided into four sections containing statistics organized on the basis of the regional library systems, statistics organized on the basis of population served groups, total expenditures, and the percentage distribution of expenditures. A brief introduction provides short explanations and illustrations of how to read the tables in each of the four sections. Three appendices include the following: (1) the instructions and survey form from which the data were gathered; (2) definitions of terms and variables used in this analysis; and (3) an index of output measures.
