The following topics are presented on a week-by-week basis: (1) Course Outline and Introduction to the Library; (2) Locating Books--Using the Microfiche Catalog and Classification Systems; (3) Researching a Topic and Developing a Research Strategy; (4) Encyclopedias; (5) Pamphlet Files and Borrowing from Other Libraries; (6) Periodicals Indexes--Magazines and Journals; (7) Periodicals Indexes--Newspapers; (8) Indexes to Works in Collections; (9) Using Reference Sources; (10) College and Career Information Sources; (11) Biographical Information--Search Strategies and Sources; (12) Literary Criticism--Search Strategies and Sources; and (13) Supplemental Sources of Information. Objectives to be achieved by completing each week's assignment are also provided, and a glossary of literary terms and a guide to preparing a bibliography are appended. (KM)
