Abstracts Federal Aid Fellowships Grants Higher Education Institutes (Training Programs) Library Education Library Schools Library Statistics Program Descriptions Prepared in response to requests from librarians and other members of the public for information about the types of projects that have been funded by the Higher Education Act Title II-B Program, a program which assists in training persons in librarianship through fellowships and institutes, this brochure provides information about projects funded in 1987 by Title II-B program grants. For FY 1987, 29 awards were made to support 60 fellowships (45 master's, 5 post-master's, and 10 doctoral), and 2 grants were issued to fund 2 institute awards for 40 participants. Abstracts for each funded project are listed first by state and then by the institution to which fellowships or grants were issued. The following information is provided for each project: (1) institution; (2) project director; (3) number and level of awards; (4) FY 1987 funding; (5) grant period; and (6) project objectives. The length of the institute is also indicated for the funded institute projects. A table summarizing fellowship funding history by state and institution for FY 1966 through FY 1987 is also provided.
