College Libraries Depository Libraries Government Publications Information Seeking Information Sources Reference Materials Scientific and Technical Information This document is the fourth of four in a series of guides to the government documents collection in the academic library at St. Mary's University (San Antonio, Texas); the library has been a selective depository for U.S. Government publications since 1964. Focusing on the scientific and technical documents that are available in the library's documents collection, this guide is divided into seven broad subject areas: (1) General and Interdisciplinary Sources; (2) History of Science and Technology; (3) Life Sciences; (4) Health Sciences; (5) Earth Sciences; (6) Astronomy; and (7) Engineering. Within each subject area, arrangement of documents is by type of publication, such as bibliographies, statistics, and indexes. It is noted that, in collecting these documents, the library focuses on subject areas and levels of treatment that support university curricula, and that special attention is paid to major series collected by the library in each subject area.
