Limited to the four largest minority groups (Asian Americans, Blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans), the directory includes 102 respondents to a questionaire mailed to over 190 groups identified as serving the needs of Orange County (California). National and regional groups located within the County lines and serving the cultural, educational, social, political, and economic needs of discrete minority communities, are included. Profit-seeking, commerical ventures have been excluded. Agency/organization information includes: name, address, telephone, contact person, description, county areas served, numbers served/number of members, fees for services/membership dues, languages available, year founded, funding source, chief officer and title, and publications available. Indexes include alaphabetical listings of contact persons, languages available other than English, services type, and organizations not responding. Lists of ethnic library collections with holdings over 100 books in a particular language, and ethnic newspapers published in Orange County are also included. (JMM)
