| contents | Performance of the Texas Nutrition Education and Training (NET) Program. Final Evaluation Report: Fiscal Year 1987. October 1986 through September 1987. Roberts-Gray, Cynthia Attitude Change Behavior Change Day Care Centers Instructional Materials Lunch Programs Nutrition Instruction Primary Education Program Development Program Effectiveness Program Evaluation During 1987, five studies were conducted to evaluate the changes in child nutrition related knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral outcomes of participants in the Texas Nutrition Education and Training (NET) Program. Because the majority of statistically evaluated and criterion-referenced outcomes were positive, these studies helped demonstrate program effectiveness. Improving coordination with related programs and evaluating alternatives for amplifying effects on participant behavior emerged as strategic directions for program planning and development. Appended reports provide information on the program's background, purpose and procedures, results, and recommended avenues for improvement. The reports describe: (1) performance of NET workshops; (2) behavioral outcomes of advanced menu planning workshops; (3) profiles of NET library patrons; (4) use of nutrition education materials; and (5) participation in the NET program.
