The booklet is divided into five parts. Part 1 provides historical information about the contributions of Baron von Steuben, Peter Muhlenberg, Johann DeKalb, Nicholas Herkimer, and the Hessian military forces, while parts 2-5 contain 143 bibliographic citations of materials that are included in the Library of Congress collections. These citations represent scholarly works, biographies, and fiction concerning these historical figures and the German-American contributions to the Revolutionary War cause.
