Audiovisual Aids Cataloging Elementary Secondary Education Learning Resources Centers Library Administration Library Automation Library Material Selection Library Services Library Surveys Microcomputers Online Searching Periodicals Reference Materials School Libraries A survey of the current practices in school library-media centers in the Southwest, Three Rivers, Pathfinder, and Arkansas Valley Regional Library Service Systems in Colorado was conducted in the fall of 1986. The survey covered reference materials; media selection; computer usage, including cataloging, online searching, and use of library management software; periodicals subscribed to by the library; and the librarian's professional reading. Separate tabulations are provided for K-6/elementary schools, middle schools/junior high schools, senior high schools, and K-12/elementary and secondary schools. Of 330 surveys mailed, 126 (or 38%) were returned completed. Survey results are being incorporated into various school library-media courses taught by Adams State College (Alamosa, Colorado) in conjunction with the University of Colorado's educational media specialist endorsement program. The document consists of the survey instrument with results ranked according to the number of times each item was cited. (EW)
