contents Statistical Abstract 1988. University of Alaska System of Higher Education. Gaylord, Thomas And Others Buildings College Faculty Degrees (Academic) Educational Finance Enrollment Trends Expenditures Facilities Financial Support Grades (Scholastic) Higher Education Income Salaries State Aid State Surveys Tuition The third annual statistical abstract for the University of Alaska System is presented. Intended to be factual rather than interpretive for use by the Board of Regents, institutional administrators, and public officials, it documents the first year effects of restructuring the University of Alaska System (due to the extreme and rapid state funding reductions). Seven sections focus on the following: (1) enrollments (i.e., fall 1987 credit headcount by campus/level/residency/sex and fiscal year (FY) 1987 correspondence study activity); (2) programs, awards, and grades (i.e., FY 1983-88 degrees/certificates by institution and fall 1987 grades by department/subject/course level); (3) faculty and staff (i.e., fall 1987 full time faculty by department/rank/sex/age/highest degree and fall 1987 student faculty ratios by department/subject); (4) facilities, property, and land (i.e., fall 1987 building inventory and FY 1987 library statistics); (5) fiscal analysis (i.e., FY 1983-88 restricted current funds revenue and FY 1984-88 state financial aid to students by campus/type); (6) comparative statistics (i.e., FY 1988 state public higher education support factors and FY 1976-88 higher education prices and price indexes); and (7) special projects summary (i.e., enrollment projections and environmental scan for 1988-98 and FY89 market-based faculty salary model).
