Information for instructors is provided and specific classroom techniques, exercises, and supplementary instructional materials are suggested with respect to: (1) the creation of a warm and supportive classroom environment; (2) helping students get to know each other; (3) acquainting students with the campus and its services; (4) combining work and school; (5) study habits and attitudes that promote academic success; (6) time and stress management; (7) extra credit assignments; (8) making use of the library; (9) sharing personal experiences and insights; (10) assessing learning styles; (11) career and academic goal setting; (12) making learning fun; and (13) effective college teaching.
