Each chapter of the instructor's manual corresponds to a chapter in "Time for College," a book designed to teach adult students some of the skills needed to successfully balance family, work, and academic responsibilities. Information for instructors is provided and specific classroom techniques, exercises, and supplementary instructional materials are suggested with respect to: (1) the creation of a warm and supportive classroom environment; (2) helping students get to know each other; (3) acquainting students with the campus and its services; (4) combining work and school; (5) study habits and attitudes that promote academic success; (6) time and stress management; (7) extra credit assignments; (8) making use of the library; (9) sharing personal experiences and insights; (10) assessing learning styles; (11) career and academic goal setting; (12) making learning fun; and (13) effective college teaching.
