The first section gives an overview of the project, in terms of background, program goals, educational theoretical considerations, role and responsibilities of training coordinator and monitoring committees, recruitment, recognition of participation, and program evaluation. The second section describes the program structure and specific training components, including group meetings, home visits, radio broadcasts, and a resource and toy lending library. The third section includes the objectives, instructional strategies, and content outline of the educational program for group meetings and home visits one through nine. Also included are lists of references, resources, and suggested activities for the Child Development Associate portfolio. Seven appendixes comprising more than a third of the document provide recruiting forms, letters, and information items; an incentive equipment list to motivate participation by caregivers; provider resource and toy lending library citations; radio broadcast topics and sample script; formative and summative evaluation forms; certificate of program participation; and an annotated bibliography of resources for training family day care providers.
