contents Research and Publication: A Resource Guide for the Rutgers University Libraries Faculty. Academic Libraries Annotated Bibliographies College Faculty Directories Grants Guidelines Higher Education Librarians Professional Continuing Education Research Design Research Opportunities Scholarly Journals Statistics Writing for Publication This handbook is designed to assist academic librarians with various aspects of the research and publication process. Arranged alphabetically by main entry, five of its six chapters contain critically annotated lists of books and articles providing information on what to publish, where to publish, how to publish, how to do statistical research, and how to get time and money for research. Nothing published before 1980 is included unless it is considered to be uniquely helpful or a standard work. If the work cited is owned by Rutgers University, the library locations are indicated. The remaining chapter is a directory of faculty at the Rutgers University libraries and the School of Library and Information Science who have agreed to share their knowledge of and experience with the research and publication process. Two appendixes contain a chart depicting the evaluation and publication processes of library journals and information on continuing education. (Author/SD)
