(The first and still the largest federal program of assistance specifically for public libraries, LSCA is designed to assist libraries in extending and improving services, to provide support for library construction and renovation, to promote sharing of resources among libraries, to improve support in services to Native Americans, and to promote library literacy efforts.) Prepared statements and transcripts of testimony are presented for the following individuals and organizations: Mary Hudspeth, Chairperson, Montana State Library Commission; Georgia Lomax, Director of the Flathead, Montana, County Library and President of the Montana Library Association; Richard Miller, Montana State Librarian; Amy Owen, Utah State Librarian; Phyllis Honka, library user from Helena, Montana (reading from braille notes); and Joe McDonald, President, Salish Kootenai College. Prepared statements, letters, and supplemental materials are included. (SD)
