Its target audience includes librarians, English teachers, journalists, and laypeople. One third of the 60 entries include annotations that describe the incident that prompted the writing of the article or book, quote from the material, or briefly summarize its content. Entries focus on censorship issues: (1) in public, school, and academic libraries together with the role of librarians; (2) related to textbooks and school curricula; (3) in school publications; (4) in the media; and (5) on a government level.
