Rebecca Check Lists Guidelines Library Automation Library Material Selection Mass Media Use Optical Data Disks Standards Workbooks This workbook, which was provided for the participants in a 1988 Texas State Library workshop on CD-ROM (Compact Disc-Read Only Memory) technology for libraries, begins with a series of outlines of workshop topics. These topics include: (1) standards for and the creation and operation of CD-ROM; (2) types of CD-ROM products; (3) procurement considerations; and (4) CD-ROM versus other media. A list of 184 vendors of CD-ROM products is then presented. Each entry includes the company name, address, telephone number, title and cost of product, contents of the disk(s), and type of product (database, software library, public access catalog, catalog information, acquisitions database, reference source, catalog support, or tutorial). An index to the vendor list by title of the CD-ROM product is also provided, as well as a 20-page glossary of terms and a 134-item bibliography of materials used in the preparation of the workshop.
