Administration Elementary Secondary Education Facility Guidelines Leadership Learning Resources Centers Library Planning Library Services Media Specialists Personnel Evaluation Program Evaluation Resource Allocation Self Evaluation (Groups) Standards These guidelines are designed to enable library media specialists, or other educators working with school library media programs, to evaluate their programs within a framework of three sets of standards or guidelines: the Ohio Minimum Standards, the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary School standards, and "Information Power," the national guidelines from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT). This new edition reflects new standards and therefore replaces the outdated previous edition. Standards are provided for the media specialist's roles and responsibilities, for leadership, planning, and management; for personnel; for resources and equipment; and for facilities. Using a three-column layout within each of these broad sections, the document lists the relevant guidelines developed by AASL and AECT in the first column, the North Central standards in the second column, and the Ohio Minimum Standards in the third column.
