Chapters cover: (1) an introduction to the library; (2) the author-title catalog; (3) the subject catalog; (4) encyclopedias; (5) subject bibliographies; (6) periodical indexes and abstracting services; (7) newspapers; (8) other approaches to researching current affairs; (9) government documents (including the Government Documents Catalog Service (GDCS) database on a compact disc); and (10) social and economic statistics.
