Zanville, Holly Business Educational Television Faculty Development Higher Education Industry Information Dissemination Interaction Research and Development Research Utilization School Business Relationship State Departments of Education Technological Advancement Telecommunications Videotape Recordings The project addressed the need for Oregon higher education faculty to receive state-of-the art information from Oregon businesses and industries in computer science, business, and engineering areas. Planning for a statewide interactive Eudcational Television Network (ED-NET) has been underway in Oregon for several years. The network will involve cooperation among community colleges, four-year colleges/universities, business and industry, K-12 schools, state agencies, and the Oregon Public Broadcasting System. Over a 20-month period, the project completed 27 faculty development videotape programs by leading industry experts and pilot tested the use of a variety of telecommunications technologies to deliver these programs. Videotapes are available in a videotape library and cover such topics as: knowledge engineering, desktop publishing, diode lasers for high speed applications, programming languages, and superconductivity. Appended are the video catalog, examples of comments on programs provided during the project, and a project contract. (DB)
