contents Micro-ISIS Training Course: Data Processing Principles and Applications. (Databases for Bibliographic Records and Serials, Training Material and Training Institutions, Addresses, and Registration of Mail). Janssens, D. Jesse, A. Bibliographic Databases Computer Networks Data Processing Databases Information Systems Information Transfer Instructional Materials Library Automation Microcomputers Transparencies This document contains a compilation of overhead projection sheets from an International Labour Office (ILO) Training Course in Micro-ISIS held in March 1988, augmented by explanatory text and applications to a wide variety of databases. It is designed both to provide a visual, didactic approach to Micro-ISIS, and to constitute a quick-reference guide to Micro-ISIS functions. It is noted that the material is to be used in conjunction with UNESCO's "CDS/ISIS Manual" (Mini-micro version, release 2.0). It is further noted that, although the material is designed for a course, it can also be used for self-study. The first part of the material describes the principles of Micro-ISIS and the processes of searching, printing, data entry, data definition, and data exchange. The second part presents applications such as a bibliographic and serials database for use by ILO External Offices and other institutions that intend to exchange information with ILO's LABORDOC database, databases for training material and institutions in the International Regional Training Information System (IRTIS), and databases to record addresses and incoming/outgoing mail. A bibliography of Micro-ISIS documentation, training material, and articles is provided. (GL)
