The first section, which presents information on 214 public libraries, includes a directory arranged by city of headquarters library; a map showing governance of public libraries; analysis of statistics including long-term trends, short-term trends, comparisons by county, and top ranking libraries based on several performance criteria; and statistical data on services, interlibrary lending, collections, operating income, expenditures, hours and attendance, staffing, and salaries. Following a directory of 62 academic libraries, the second section provides statistics on circulation, interlibrary loan, service hours, and attendance; reference and group services in a typical week; print materials held; nonprint materials held; print materials added; nonprint materials added; expenditures; and staffing. The next section offers a directory and statistics for 166 special libraries on circulation, interlibrary loan, and attendance; reference and group services in a typical week; print materials held; nonprint materials held; and expenditures, staffing, and service hours. The final section presents information on the Oregon State Library including directories of the Board of Trustees, State Advisory Council on Libraries, and library departments; a list of depository libraries; and statistics on personnel, expenditures, development, collections, services, and talking book and Braille services and utilization.
