The project is premised on the idea that the German program will contribute to the total development of the child and the child's personality. Included in this guide are a selection of recommended core materials for K-8 German classes, a list of criteria for evaluating teaching materials, and a bibliography of commercially-produced instructional texts, teaching manuals and supplementary library materials that are available to school districts wishing to begin German programs.
