Constructed by the reference librarian who works directly with COBA, the handbook was designed to inform the approximately 50 established and new faculty members at COBA about library holdings, locations, procedures, and communication routes. General information includes: a description of the library system and its staff and holdings; procedures for arranging for a librarian to meet with a class; a review of print, CD-ROM, and online versions of several popular indexes; notes about making use of the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries Public Access Catalog; procedures for establishing standing and special orders; and reserve policies. Supplementary materials include a sample periodical photocopy form; a chart summarizing the functions of the educational materials service, which is responsible for scheduling the use of audiovisual equipment and materials and the installation and maintenance of all non-computer electronic equipment; and lists of currently available business and economics serials. A Library of Congress classification outline is also provided. It is noted that a standard faculty orientations packet, which is usually packaged with this handbook, is not included here. (SD)
