Fines (Penalties) Foreign Countries Information Needs Library Collections Library Services Library Statistics Library Surveys Public Libraries Use Studies User Needs (Information) User Satisfaction (Information) Users (Information) Distributed on a random basis to 3,000 patrons, this survey was conducted to provide the administration of the Edmonton Public Library with a comprehensive evaluation of the service the library provides to the public. The results, which were tabulated using frequency distribution tables and which make up the major part of the report, are presented under the following section categories: (1) General; (2) Use and Knowledge of the System; (3) Range and Availability of the Material; (4) General User Patterns; (5) Specialized Issues; and (6) Main Library User Patterns. Overall, findings indicate that the library's patrons are quite satisfied with the level and quality of the services provided to the public. However, some criticisms were expressed by patrons during the administration of the survey. These included inadequate funding, excessive fines, and the lack of book return drop-offs after hours. (SD)
