Childrens Games Community Involvement Creative Activities Food Guidelines Handicrafts Library Services Outreach Programs Preadolescents Program Development Public Libraries Puzzles Reading Programs Recreational Activities Resource Materials Summer Programs Young Children "Readlicious: Carry-outs Available" is a theme that can be adapted to a variety of emphases since libraries are filled with materials relating to food in many ways, and library collections feed hungry minds and imaginations in countless fashions. This manual is a smorgasbord of planning ideas contributed by many Wisconsin librarians, and is intended to serve as a basic guide for program preparation. Program manuals from Ohio's 1989 "Hungry for Books?," Vermont's 1988 "Summer Feast," and Oklahoma's 1982 "Jubilicious Jamboree" were also consulted in preparing this manual. An effort was made to present a balanced selection of materials suitable for use in communities of varying sizes and with children or varying ages. The guide is divided into the following sections: (1) "Planning and Promoting Programs"; (2) "Decorating the Library"; (3) "Programs and Activities"; (4) "Giveaways and Games"; (5) "Performing Artists"; and (6) "Resources." The list of resources features 40 books, 26 films, 38 resources for the hearing and visually impaired, 11 associations and businesses, 9 catalogs, and a form for ordering Readlicious materials.
