It presents the following 23 articles: list of definitions; recognition of AAUP; faculty statutes and policy series; general relationship between the AAUP and the University; appointment, reappointment, non-reappointment, promotion, and tenure; working conditions; fringe benefits; compensation; reduction of faculty as a consequence of curricular curtailment or financial exigency; no strike, work stoppage or lockout; grievance and arbitration procedures; merger or acquisition; released time; union security and check-off; separability; interest succession; non-discrimination clause; personnel files; affirmation of full disclosure; past practices; department chairpersons; adjunct faculty and special faculty status; duration and effective date. Five appendices contain policies relating only to the New College, special library staff policies, policies for the District 65/District Council 37 Hofstra Institute of Applied Social Science, target dates for action, and memorandum of understanding.
