Goals for both selective depositories and the regional depository are presented, and the roles of the two types of depositories and the Montana State Library are detailed. Responsibility areas are described, including collection development, reference services, education/outreach, interlibrary loan, and financial support. Performance is discussed in terms of evaluation and annual reports. Appended materials include a Library Directory and Profiles; a Union List of Federal Document Reference Tools in Montana Depository Libraries; Instructions to Depository Libraries for Submitting Disposal Requests for Discarding of U.S. Government Depository Publications; an Agreement Document form; and a Union List of Item Selections by Montana Depository Libraries.
