A brief account of the school's existence as a proprietary college, with its part-time faculty and student body, is also provided. The book is broken down into six historical time blocks that correspond with the tenures of the school's six deans: Philemon E. Hommell, Robert P. Fischelis, Ernest Little, Tom D. Rowe, Roy A. Bowers, and John L. Colaizzi. Within these time periods, the school's major developments are highlighted, including curriculum development, college finances, student life, enrollment, and creation of the school library. An appendix contains brief biographical notes on each of the school's deans, and a list of the alumni and alumnae members of the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors of Rutgers University. Resource materials and information sources and an index are also provided. (GLR)
